Guides, answers and somewhere to ask

Everything you need to get running and keep running. If the answer is not here, write to support — a person reads it.

Getting started

Set up a business in about ten minutes

  1. 01

Install the app and sign in with your mobile number. You will get a one-time code — no password to remember.

  2. 02

Add your business: name, type, address and, if you have them, your PAN and VAT numbers. These appear on your invoices.

  3. 03

Set your invoice prefix and the fiscal year you work to. Byapar eKhata numbers your bills from here, automatically.

  4. 04

Add a few products with their purchase and selling prices, and the unit you buy and sell them in.

  5. 05

Write your first bill. Stock, the party ledger and your cash or bank balance all update at the same time.

VAT & PAN

Where VAT lives in Byapar eKhata

  1. 01

Record your PAN and VAT numbers once in business settings. They print on every tax invoice.

  2. 02

Mark each product as VAT-applicable or exempt. Byapar eKhata applies 13% to the taxable lines only.

  3. 03

Choose whether prices you enter are VAT-inclusive or exclusive, per business, so the screen matches your habit.

  4. 04

Run the VAT summary for any date range. It shows taxable sales, VAT collected, taxable purchases and VAT paid, with the net position.

  5. 05

Export the summary to PDF or Excel straight from the report screen and hand it to your accountant.

Offline & sync

What happens when the connection drops

  1. 01

Everything you can do online, you can do offline: bills, payments, purchases, stock counts and expenses.

  2. 02

Offline entries are stored on the device in a queue, with their own reference so nothing is lost or duplicated.

  3. 03

When a connection returns, the queue uploads on its own. You can watch it clear in the sync screen.

  4. 04

If the same record was changed on two devices, the most recent change wins, and the full history stays visible.

  5. 05

You can back up to the cloud on demand, or let scheduled backups run. Restores bring a business back to a chosen point.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does Byapar eKhata work without internet?

Yes. Sales, purchases, ledger entries and stock checks all work offline. Entries queue on your device and upload automatically the next time you have a connection. Two devices editing at once are reconciled with a last-write-wins rule and a full change history.

Do I need an accountant to use it?

No. The app speaks in the language of a shop — bills, udharo, cash in hand. Underneath, everything is recorded with double-entry accounting, so when you do hand the books to an accountant, the reports already match what they expect.

Is the app available in Nepali?

Yes. The interface supports English and Nepali, and switching languages does not change any of your data or reports.

How do I pay for a plan?

Subscriptions are paid from inside the app using eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay. Prices are in Nepali rupees and plans renew monthly or yearly. You can change or cancel a plan at any time.

Can I run more than one business?

Yes. Add each business separately, each with its own PAN/VAT details, fiscal year, invoice format and staff. Premium supports three businesses and Enterprise is unlimited. Switch between them from the sidebar.

Can my staff use it without seeing everything?

Access groups let you give a counter person sales-only access, a storekeeper inventory-only access, and an accountant reports-only access. Permissions are enforced on the server, so they hold even if someone is using the web app.

Can I get my data out?

Every report exports to PDF or Excel, and you can request a full data export at any time. Your records are yours — leaving is one request, not a negotiation.

Is there a free trial of paid plans?

Paid plans start with a 30-day trial. If you do not upgrade, the account drops back to the Free plan automatically. Your data is never deleted when a trial ends.
